About Us
 John founded The Law Offices of John J. Dwyer, Jr. in 1989. The practice was limited to the representation of victims of personal injury. The firm was focused upon the service of clients through thorough case evaluation, attention to detail and knowledge of the medical conditions suffered by the client. John’s work as an honest advocate for personal injury victims continues to in him the respect of his colleagues and opponents. John remains involved in the legal community as a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyer’s Association and served as co-editor of the Automobile Litigation Book, 2002 Edition, published by the Illinois Trial Lawyer’s Association. The Automobile Litigation Book serves as a resource for personal injury lawyers and addresses many of the issues attorneys face when handling automobile negligence claims.
 Daniel J. McDevitt joined the firm in 1996. He attended DePaul University College of Law after graduating from the University of Iowa in 1993. Dan graduated from DePaul in 1996 and was licensed to practice in State and Federal Courts in Illinois. Dan was licensed to practice law in Wisconsin in 2006. Dan limits his practice to representing plaintiffs who have suffered personal injury and wrongful death. Dan is a member of the American Association for Justice, Illinois State Bar Association and Illinois Trial Lawyer's Association. Dan has obtained millions of dollars on behalf of his clients at trial and through settlement of cases involving motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice and premises liability. In 2004, the firm name was charged to Dwyer & McDevitt, Ltd. to reflect Dan's role in the firm. Dan is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and in 2008 was named a Rising Star by Law and Politics and the Publishers of Chicago magazine.
